PAROS BEACHES

 

Paros has some of the most beautiful and popular beaches in the Greek islands. In almost every corner of the island, clean, sandy beaches either cosmopolitan and noisy or quiet and isolated with beautiful deep blue waters will be waiting for you.

Krios

It is a beach opposite from the port of Parikia and you can visit it by boat or by car. You can find there organized camping, taverns, bars, beach volley and other activities. There are crystal-waters and the view to the port is unique.

Livadia

It is the most central beach in Paros since it is located only 700 meters from the port of Parikia. It is ideal for those who want to be in the centre of the island. It is enormously wide and is separated in a lot of sections, with or without umbrellas, with or without trees and for this it satisfies the preferences of most visitors.

Agia Irini

It is a small sandy beach south-west of Parikia. The palm trees make this bay particularly scenic. It is a beach to relax far from the trouble and the crowd. Certainly worth visiting although you may have to walk a bit from where the nearest bus stop is.

Parasporos

Parasporos is located south of Parikia, Paros' capital, next to a campsite, which is the reason why it is often very crowded. It is a large beach with emerald waters and golden sand. Parasporos Beach is reachable by local bus that stops nearby the beach or by private car for a good asphalted road leads to it.

Kolibithres

It is a separate beach in the western part of Naoussa. You can go there either by taxi-boat from the port of Naoussa or by car. This beach is unique because it is full of rocks, which create independent sections. It is a quiet beach, well organised with a restaurant near by and umbrellas. The scene is rocky and quite different from the sandy beaches you would normally expect in Paros.

Monastiri

It is located in a distance of 2 kilometers from Kolympithres, west of Naoussa. It is a long sandy coast between rocks. It is suitable for the fans of parties and events. Monastiri also has a restaurant which in addition to its normal Greek menu, offers a range of sandwiches to take away with you on the beach.

Piperi

Piperi is the central beach of Naoussa and is only 250 meters away from the port. It is suitable for swimming and sunbathing and is located between imposing rocks, offering an amazing view.

Santa Maria

It is in the Eastern coast of island near Naoussa and includes many sandy beaches. There are many facilities such as camping, beach volley and a windsurfing school. You can go there by car or by boat. A beach bar that plays music and offers cocktails is there to keep you company. The music is mostly lounge or chill out music so don't worry if you are not into loud party music.

Molos

At the tip of a nearby peninsula stands Molos, a breathtakingly stunning and convenient beach near the beautiful inland villages of Marpissa and Marmara, where there are rooms to spare. Beware though, because this beach does get crowded. Nevertheless, its myriad of lodgings in the form of apartments, hotels, and taverns are worth pushing through the rambunctious crowd.

Piso Livadi

Piso Livadi has a beach right in the town.  At one end are swings for kids on the sand.  The rest of the beach has trees and lots of shade.  It is shallow for a little ways and slowly gets deeper.  What makes this beach so nice is a bus goes right past it!  So you can get to it easily from Parikia or Naoussa.  There are lots of different little restaurants next to this beach.

Logaras

Logaras is just around the corner from Piso Livadi.  This is a fairly long beach also with some trees at one end and 3 or 4 restaurants at the other end.  It is sandy and has a water spout to wash the sea water off.  A great place to sit and eat and watch the bathing beauties walk past.  Good place for children.

Punda

Punda beach is located in the south-east part of the island and is very popular for the ongoing party that is organized on the beach. It is relatively small in size but very beautiful, because it will remind you of tropical and exotic places. It is always over-crowded, especially by young people, that enjoy partying and extreme sports such as bungee jumping.

New Golden Beach

It is one of the most famous beach of Paros in the south-east part and you can visit it by bus or by car. It is a very long and wide sandy beach, with spotless waters. It became famous because it offers ideal weather conditions for windsurfing and kite surfing.

Golden Beach

Another major beach is Chrissi Akti, which literally means "Golden Beach" and is a 700 meter long powdery coastline that's famous for its perfect wind conditions for windsurfing. In any case, the beach is fully organized with windsurf rentals that anyone can avail of in all the clubs and resorts there.

Lolantonis

South of Drios, there's a 200 meter long beach called Loloantonis that's protected from the Meltemi winds or Etesians—which are the strong, dry winds of the Aegean sea that are dangerous to sailors because they appear even during clear weather—by a headland filled with rocks. The beaches are not usually crowded, and the resort features a snack shop and a small tavern.

Faragas

Lastly, on the south of Aliki is the wondrous and protected Faranga Beach, which is situated on the south shore of Paros and is a short walk in from the main road.

Aliki

This is a sandy beach in the center of town and very popular.  Next to it is a children's little playground with trees and a kiosk for quick treats.  Also are a couple of tavernas right on the beach, and just on the other side of the seawall is a row of restaurants.  This is a great beach to swim at sunset time.....and it is very children safe.
